A Billion Reasons Why you Need Apple Cider Vinegar in Your Life (OK, let’s just start with 10)

Apple cider vinegar is something we can all use a little more of in our lives.  Here are 10 great uses for apple cider vinegar you may not have heard about yet!

10 Uses for Apple Cider Vinegar
1) Eat it
It’s a food first and foremost, isn’t it? Anywhere that you would normally use regular vinegar, you can use apple cider vinegar for a great zippy flavor and get a little health boost too!

2) Remove Dandruff
Just spray into your hair after you wash it, let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse it out. The vinegar makes it difficult for the fungus that causes dandruff to grow on your scalp! Don’t worry about the vinegar smell. It will dissipate once your hair dries.

3) Clear up a Cough or a Sore Throat
We make a great homemade cough syrup (pictured above) that really works using apple cider vinegar all the time.

4) De-Stinkify Your Feet
Use a cloth, paper towels, or baby wipes soaked in apple cider vinegar to wipe smelly feet. The vinegar works by altering the PH level of your skin, which will fight off the bacteria that causes smellyness! Great for kids feet after sports!

5) Balance Your Digestive System
If you feel like you may have eaten a bit too much or that something you’ve eaten isn’t really agreeing with you, make yourself a glass of water with a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a bit of honey. Stir it up and drink it down. I make this all the time just because it’s surprisingly delicious and a great thirst-quencher!

6) Heal a Sunburn

A cup or two of apple cider vinegar added to a bath after a day in the sun will soothe over-exposed skin.

7) Stop Hiccups
Just swallow one teaspoon full of apple cider vinegar. It works by over-stimulating the nerves in the throat and cancelling out the message to your brain to hiccup! Neat, right?

8) Boost Your Energy
Stress and strenuous exercise can cause lactic acid to build up in your muscles, causing fatigue and soreness. The amino acids in apple cider vinegar act are like a magical antidote to this lactic acid, and the potassium and enzymes found in apple cider vinegar help to relieve that tired feeling. Next time you’re feeling exhausted at the end of a long day try a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. I love my coffee and my tea, but this really works just as well a lot of the time!

9) Remove Cooking Smells from Hands

Just wash them with a little apple cider vinegar and those onion and garlic smells left over from making dinner will wash right away!

10) All-purpose Cleaner

Apple cider vinegar isn’t just for your hands and hair, (oh yeah, and your kids’ smelly feet), you can use it on your whole house too! The same antibacterial properties apply when you use it on your kitchen and bath as well. Just make a mixture of half apple cider vinegar and half water in a spray bottle and you’re all set!

Make sure the apple cider vinegar you pick up is a good, high-quality one. There are a few on the market that I like, just make sure it says that it has “the mother”.
