Exactly how many hours you need to sleep for weight loss

If someone asks you what is the best way to lose weight, you’d in all likelihood say that the answer lies in regular exercise and healthy eating habits. Isn’t it? But turns out, there is another thing that is super important to lose weight and we all do it every day. Do you want to take a guess?

Sleep, it is. Yes, losing weight can be as easy as sleeping. According to the Centre for Health and Human Performance, one of the biggest mistakes people make while trying to lose weight is not sleeping enough.

According to the National Sleep Foundation, when we sleep, our body repairs itself by releasing growth hormones. These hormones stimulate the muscles, protein synthesis and fat breakdown process called lipolysis.

Because the growth hormones help in the repairing of the body, not getting a good night sleep cuts this essential process short. Research shows that sleeping for only four to five hours in a day can eventually lead to obesity.

What can you do?

Sleeping for adequate hours every night can be an easy way to alleviate your weight loss. It is recommended to sleep for seven to nine hours every day to ensure your body repairs properly and you can prevent obesity.

According to the National Sleep Foundation, adults should sleep for seven to nine hours every night. This helps one to wake up refreshed and also lose weight.
